As a teaching assistant, you are responsible for carrying out practical and administrative duties, as well as working under the guidance of the class instructor in the supervision and support of students' learning. You are assisting in making more time available for the instructor to educate on a daily basis by doing so. Teaching assistants operate under the guidance and supervision of instructors to facilitate successful learning and teaching, typically for children with learning disabilities (SEN). They carry out duties assigned to them by the instructor in order to work with children one-on-one and in small groups to enhance learning. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for the following tasks:- Assisting the teacher

What could this qualification lead to?
Our TQUK Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (RQF) Certificate is open to anybody who wants to acquire a complete recognised qualification as a Teaching Assistant and has a great interest in the topic, as well as an aim to develop within the Education sector.
- The awarding organisation needs a meaningful work placement of at least 50 hours in a school to obtain the observational units. We recommend two days a week (16 hours) for optimal practise, however this is dependent on the availability of the school. This might involve both volunteer and paid employment.
- Learners should be eager to work in the sector to assist classroom teaching and learning.
- All students must pay attention to detail and be willing to work in a team setting.
- When necessary, you should be willing to work on your own initiative.
- Throughout your study session, students should have access to a computer and the internet.
- In order to navigate our Learner Management System, learners need have basic PC capabilities (LMS)
- You should be completely dedicated to your study at all times.
- You must be at least 16 years old.
