This course will provide you with the competency and knowledge to progress into a role involving apprenticeships, functional skills, NVQ’s, diplomas and other relevant qualifications in your subject area.

This is a online based course so it will give you full flexibility where you will receive tutoring and personal support in order to develop your skills over the duration of the course. There will be a online e-learning platform where you can submit assignments, access them and receive feedback to improve your work. Once the course has been completed, you are eligible to start a career as a qualified assessor and will have the options of working for a college, training provider or self-employed. You will also receive your approved certificate as evidence of completion.

Each unit is followed by a written tutor-marked assignment , which is submitted and then marked by your tutor. You will not be required to take an external exam.

Your portfolio of evidence is internally assessed and externally quality assured. This is a regulated qualification, in which staff involved in the assessment must:

  • Already hold the qualification they are assessing (or a recognised equivalent) and have successfully assessed learners for other Teaching, Learning or Assessment qualifications
  • Have up-to-date working knowledge and experience of best practice in assessment and quality assurance
